Chief Judge: PETER FINO

2011 JudgesPeter Fino will once again serve as our Chief Judge in 2012, replacing our Founding Chief Judge, Jonathan A. Stein, who remains on our Advisory Board. In addition to Mr. Fino (seated at left), our judges in 2011 were (from left): John Barr, Carl Edwards David Cooper, and Andy Anderson (not pictured).

Peter Fino of QuattroFino bgain working in the vintage and classic car business in 1973 part-time fixing up MGTC's and MGA's and selling them to support his passion for classic cars. He did consulting work and helped build a number of collections and museums in the U.S. and U.K. in the 1970s and 1980s. He began Gemini Works (VCD) Vintage Car Division in 1975. His first love will always be prewar sports cars, but now he deals directly in Italian vehicles; Ferraris in particular. QuattroFino is named after his four sons, who are all car enthusiasts. Peter has Vintage raced for over 20 years; he has also shown vehicles and won awards at Pebble Beach, Meadow Brook, The Chicago International Concours, and the Jaguar Club of North America.

JUDGING RULES

Wel use modified French rules for judging exhibits. Judges will look for cleanliness, fit
and finish, level of restoration, paint choices for components, interior condition, and finally the presenter’s attempt to preserve the vehicle’s “period correctness.” Exhibitors are encouraged to wear period clothing to enhance their show display (there will also be an award for best period clothing!).
Exhibit requirements include:

  1. The exhibit must have been manufactured in 1973 or earlier.
  2. The exhibit cannot have been shown at the Barrington Concours in 2011, 2010, or 2009..
  3. The exhibit must be driven onto the showfield to demonstrate “working” condition (tractors excluded).
  4. Original vehicles and “backgarden” varieties are highly desired.

Hagerty Youth Judging Program

In 2007, Hagerty Insurance debuted its Youth Judging Program at the Barrington Concours d’Elegance. The program was held again in 2008, when more than 50 youngsters between the ages of 8 and 16 were invited to shadow adult judges and participate in choosing and presenting the Youth Judges Award.

We will once again be hosting the Hagerty Youth Judging Program in 2012. If you would like to register your youngster for this great program, please click here.
