The Barrington Concours d’Elegance is proud to welcome the Collectors Foundation to Legends & Legacies. The Collectors Foundation is an educational, grant-making organization funded by collector vehicle and classic boat enthusiasts to serve young people – the future generation of collectors.

At the Concours on October 5, the Collectors Foundation will be bringing a number of students from the Automotive Restoration Technology program at McPherson College in Kansas to assemble a Model T from parts at our show. Then, at our awards ceremony, the students will drive the car away!

The Collectors Foundation was founded by Hagerty Insurance Agency in 2003. Along with a growing number of other industry-related businesses and collector enthusiasts, Hagerty continues to support the foundation through major gifts and programs. Since its inception, more than 200,000 school-age youth have been introduced to the beauty, history, and technology of historic vehicles and vessels through grants awarded for innovative hands-on programs at various automobile museums across the country.

In addition, more than 2,000 high-school-aged youth have been assisted in their studies of automotive technology at various career and technical centers throughout the country. More than 75 college-age students have also been awarded scholarships or funding for internships, and 26 have now graduated and are working in the industry.
