Artists Invitational

We welcome a talented group of artists to the second annual Barrington Concours d'Elegance. The artists will have their works on display at the Concours on Sunday, October 5 for juried exhibition, and will be selling their artwork as well. Below are our featured guests.

Alex Buchan

Alex creates bronzes to express his passion for the beauty of the automobile. His interest is focused on early race cars and figurative artwork. Upon his retirement from GM as a Styling Sculptor, Alex became a full-time artist and displays his bronze artwork throughout the United States.

Gerald Freeman

Gerald’s interest lies in depicting important historic scenes. The automobile is dramatically featured, but he also creates very interesting and beautiful settings with his oil paintings. Gerald has an extensive background in art and design.

Michael Goettner

Michael is a very realistic painter who uses acrylics as his medium. Automobiles are most often his subject, but he is equally adept at paintings of aircraft, (especially military) as well as other subjects; he has also created a number of event posters. Go to www.goettner.com.

Clark Gordon

Clark uses his imagination to create his unique sculptural pieces. Not only are his sculptures dramatic and unusual, but his selection of materials is also creative. Clark has an extensive background with automobiles including a position as curator of a major collection.

Gloria Jones Hacker

Gloria is a professional artist with degrees in Fine Arts and Art Education. Her style is varied and included photo-realism, technical cutaway art, and highly detailed pen and ink. Her artwork covers a wide range of subjects.

Tom Hale

Tom’s artwork continues to evolve in terms of his use of patterns and abstraction and the concentration of color relationships. His artwork portrays a fine line between reality and fantasy. Go to www.tomhalegallery.com.

Steven Macy

This is Steven’s first art show; his paintings are wonderfully simplistic, featuring various automobiles with simple and strikingly dramatic backgrounds. His choices of automobiles are generally some of the most popular makes of their decades and are always accurately rendered.

Charles Munday

Charles is a professor of art at Auburn University and has been an automobile artist longer than most others in the field. His mastery of watercolor is second to none and his paintings are often large and dramatic. Charles has also created a number of event posters for various car events.

Chris Osborne

Chris is a unique artist who combines automobiles with famous personalities and appropriate backgrounds. Her artwork continues to evolve and is becoming increasingly popular among her intended audience. Go to www.ChrisOArt.com.

Dennis Reardon

Dennis is an accomplished artist with a background in design, which he uses also to teach rendering and create his own artwork. He is a realistic painter and favors racing cars as his most prominent subject.

Don Wieland

Don’s background is with professional art studios that created much of the automotive catalog artwork. Because of discipline earlier in his career, Don has been able to now loosen up and create his own style of painting. Don has only participated in a few shows, but his artwork has been very popular and is continuing to gain a following.
