July 12: Legends & Legacies: Celebrating a Century on Wheels

Please join us at Makray Memorial Golf Club on July 12, 2009, when the Barrington Concours d'Elegance will present its one-day charity benefit Legends & Legacies: Celebrating a Century on Wheels. Tickets are limited for this year's benefit (only 300 will be sold), and tickets will not be sold at the door. Road Rally

This year's event kicks off with a fun "poker run" Road Rally through the Barrington countryside, with a scavenger hunt to help you find your way. You'll be directed to five stops along the route, where you'll pick up a playing card at each stop. At the end of the Rally, whoever has the best poker hand wins! This is a great family event, with all types of cars welcome -- from old-time Packards to modern mini-vans and everything in between.

Cocktail Buffet & Viewing of Concours Vehicles

After the Rally, we'll gather at Makray Memorial Golf Club in Barrington for an elegant Cocktail Buffet dinner where we'll celebrate "A Century on Wheels" with 20 to 25 of the most stunning classic cars from the Chicago area's top collectors. We'll also be featuring Victorian-era carriages and antique bicycles, all displayed for exhibition only on the beautiful grounds at Makray. In addition to the Concours vehicles, you won't want to miss displays of fabulous new cars from our automotive sponsors, including Motor Werks of Barrington, Steve Foley Northrbook, and the spectacular Veyron Grand Sport from Bugatti.

Silent Auction & Raffle

At the dinner, there will be a silent auction with wonderful items up for bid, including:

--A private dinner for eight with the incomparable Formula 1 racecar driver David Hobbs

--A chauffeured ride in a vintage automobile into downtown Chicago, where you'll stay overnight at the Ritz Carlton and enjoy a starlit flight around downtown courtesy of Cirrus Aircraft

--A day on the track at the Autobahn Country Club

--A personal, behind-the-scenes experience at the Shedd Aquarium
